Business Development Manager 

Stagirus is a leader in innovative operational risk management solutions.  Stagirus designs, develops and markets an enterprise class technology platform that integrates Environmental, Health, Safety and Compliance into our customers’ daily production operations.  We enable enterprise customers to improve their operational efficiency and reduce risk through automation, closing the gap among technology, people and process.

Our solutions reach end user customers through consultative direct sales, industry specialized System Integrators and partnerships with best-in-class consulting firms.

Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing new business in an assigned territory or specific vertical industry.  This is an individual contributor role with assigned revenue and new account targets.  The BDM is charged with developing and executing a comprehensive plan to identify, engage and close customer opportunities consistent with the corporate sales strategy and routes-to-market playbook.    S/he must identify new opportunities and develop long term relationships with customers in the assigned territory to expand Stagirus market share and increase sales of Stagirus solutions.  In addition, the BDM will identify and build relationships with potential business partners and/or consultants that may further extend our market reach and revenue opportunity.  The BDM will work closely as a team with other members of the Stagirus sales and management team to increase overall territory revenue and maintain a high level of customer and partner satisfaction.

Requirements:
Candidates must be highly polished, motivated and experienced self-starters who:

  • Have a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals (quota) and excel in a highly competitive market.
  • Possess current skills and experience selling enterprise class software technologies to large customers at the executive level.   Specific sales experience in one of the Stagirus target markets is essential.  Experience in operational risk management, environmental, health and safety, and associated regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a consultative, strategic solution sales approach with a focus on building long term relationships with enterprise customers.
  • Are hunters, with a proven track record of identifying, qualifying and closing new business in a remote territory role.
  • Are able to work effectively with the Stagirus outside sales team, inside sales team, corporate colleagues and Stagirus executives to maximize results.
  • Are able to prepare high quality sales presentations and effectively deliver them to senior level decision makers in a way that generates results.
  • Possess excellent oral/written communication, networking, prioritization and negotiation skills.

Education and Experience:

  • BS or BA in related field
  • Minimum of 5 yrs of successful outside sales experience developing new accounts and selling enterprise class software to large companies in the energy, petrochemical or heavy manufacturing sectors. Must be able to demonstrate a current working knowledge of the industry and customer set for the given territory. The candidate must have a history of top performance in prior jobs.
  • Availability to travel in territory at least 60% of the time.
